Brittney Bennett is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. Currently, she is a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Brittney’s personal platform, Autism Awareness: Finding the Gold helped her find a career where she will be helping individuals who have autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Since the diagnosis of her nephew, Harrison, in 2007, Brittney has devoted countless hours of passion and service to educating and promoting acceptance for individuals who have ASD. As Miss Carrollton, Brittney plans to use her vocal talent to become the “Voice of Autism.” In addition to autism awareness, Brittney has volunteered for CASA, the Texas Boys Ranch, DIFFA, and Special Olympics. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, dancing, knitting, and public speaking. Brittney is looking forward to an incredible year representing the city of Carrollton, and having the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Texas 2013.
